20 days!!!
20 days!!!
Yep this chick has 20 solid days without a drink! I am so loving life today! I am living in the solution! And that applies to everything in my life.
Alcohol has brought me to a dark place in the past. It has brought people I care about to darn places. And last night, I for a call that a friend of mine had drank, took pills and possibly slit her wrist. I was awoken by this call at midnight. I flew over to her house and yep. Xanax, flexeril, and a generic concerta gone. Blueberry vodka and lemonade, and a fresh superficial wound on her wrist. I called another mutual friend, we called the ambulance and now she is going to the psych ward for suicide eval. Her blood alc content was .269. It scared me, and made me mad and my heart breaks for her. But she needs help that we (husband, sisters, friends) can't give her. I didn't push sobriety or even talk about it, but when she sobers up, I imagine we will have that discussion. I need to remember that although she is like a sister to me, it's not my monkeys, not my circus. Today, I am grateful to be sober!!!!

Sad about your friend but you are bang on. Not your fight. Of course we can have compassion for people around us struggling, but at the end of the day, we have to put our own sobriety first.
Kudos for your sobriety!
