Im new to this
Hi. I'm new to this. I started drinking 15 years ago. My official last drink was yesterday. I already feel scared about not being able to succeed. I work and have no problems with drinking there, but when I'm off work its crazy. Im alone a lot. I'm going to start AA today if I make it there. I like hearing other peoples stories, lets me see I'm not alone. My husband hates me to drink and has come close to ending our marriage several times. Im not sure if I can do this, Alcohol has been my best and only friend and my worst nightmare and enemy
Yep all here for the same reason. We all know what the guilt and shame feel like.. Every day will get a little easier.. I've been on here everyday for 11 days. I've found so mucho in common with so many.
I can do all things through he who strengthens me

If you can get to AA - go! If you need a ride, call someone there (there should be a contact number online). I treasure so much of what was said there when I was new in sobriety (and later too). You really learn and you really see that we are part of a great group of flawed people!
So glad you are here too! Can't wait to check in tomorrow and see how you are
Hugs,
Beth

Welcome Lillie. I think you'll find a lot of stories here to read.
AA is a good place to go and will help you when you find yourself alone and wanting that drink. I went to a meeting every day for the first three months.

Hi and welcome Lillie
I think, at the start, everyone is scared they won't succeed - but there's a lot of support and help here. Whenever you feel vulnerable, post or read here. There's always someone around
why not check out our Class of September support thread too?

Welcome Lillie!! I was in your shoes about 8 months ago, and I have remained sober since. I too almost ended my marriage because of my issues with alcohol. My wife had enough of basically being a single parent, but through sobriety I've proven to her that I am committed to making our life better together.
I still read and use these forums everyday as my main tool...Good Luck and glad your with us!!

I'm on day 2 and I am already doing way better emotionally than on almost any other quitting time. It is so helpful to know you're not alone. I don't have anyone in real life to whom I can admit a relapse, so this forum has been a godsend.
Best of luck, and keep sharing.
