You can get jaundice from lots of things.

I had it once when i got hepatitis in India. I just looked like one of the Simpsons for about 2 months. lots of rest & fluids & all was well after that.

Really don't worry, your doctor would have sent you to ER if they thought it was a serious problem.

No drinking alcohol though!

I agree with the others Zelda - no need to assume you won't get better. I'm so glad you stopped when you did, instead of ignoring the danger.

The waiting is the hardest. Is there a project or some activity you can do to distract yourself? Throw yourself into it with gusto.

Wait for the docs results. Stay calm. I had a friend with pretty bad jaundice. When she quit drinking it went away fairly quick. She is in tip top health now.

I just got the call from the doctors. My liver levels and bilirubin are completely normal!!!! Whew!!!! I'm still jaundiced and now my doc thinks it might have to do with some meds I am taking. So more tests. But at least I'm not in peril from drinking!

Never ever drinking again! I never want to be that scared ever again!

Good news there, Zelda. So happy to hear that. Best wishes on any other tests, and best wishes on sobriety! Have a great sober day!

I'm glad it looks like a med related thing, Zelda.

I understand your fear tho...it's a pretty sobering lesson on what can happen to us from drinking.

I'm glad the news was good! Now you need to come up with a plan. It might seem unbelievable now but you will forget the fear you went through, or I should say your addictive voice will convince you that it was nothing. So you need a plan to stay sober once the fear wears off.

Let me change things around a little. I have this hobby where I load a bullet in my revolver and put it against my head after spinning the chamber. It makes me feel alive to hear the clicks - a rush of dopamine if you will. In fact, I am addicted to it. Two of my friend were not so lucky - they died. Sometimes when I hear three clicks I get an even bigger rush and wonder if I should push my luck and go for that fourth click. I used to stop at 2 but now I have progressed to three and moving to four.

You might think I am crazy, have me committed. This is how I read your words here. You are trying to get to five clicks in a six clip chamber with one live round.

So what is your plan? I can't tell you how many times I rationalized going back to my addictions after a good blood test came back.
