Day 5 and..

Woke up this morning a little awhile ago... drenched in sweat, anxious and of course today is my doctors appointment and I have to leave the house and bus alone (something ive never done due to anxiety issues) to try and get my medication straightened out and level with my doc about whats been going on. I thought I was going to get lucky this time with detoxing (silly me) because I only went out for two weeks and didn't feel it after the normal 12 breaking point. I guess I was seriously wrong.

Im scared. Ive never really had to function while detoxing before. Especially doing things ive never done and having such high anxiety.

Does anybody have any tips on getting through the day doing what I have to do?

This reminds me of me before sr

Take your mobile to read on bus and while waiting at docs

To ease anxiety just practice breathing and meditation

You can get music to do it to but I meditate to anything

Good luck

Music always helped me, and there is guided meditation too. Pandora Radio has a lot of great meditation music for free. You can do this. One foot in front of the other.

Thanks to all who replied and were supportive. You guys rule.

Yes... I managed to do it. Headphones in... phone in hand. I talked to my doctor honestly about what has been going on and looks like things are looking up in that relm. He gave me my usual perscriptions and I felt okay and confident enough to go and drop them off before I went home. This may seem like nothing to most... but its huge for me.

Thank you for all your support. Im so glad I found this place

Hi JB, yea I know the anxiety the panic and the sweats oh so well.
I don't know how I did for so long? Everything was such a massive effort, even just going in to town to the shops I would have this going through my head.

Walking down the street thinking everyone new what a mess I was, thinking to myself - am I walking right? Are they looking at me? Am I sweating? Yes! OH NO! I'm starting to sweat more!! Double OH NO!! Oh god my hearts pounding now! Dagnam it! Breath tic breath! OMG I CANT BREATH! They are defiantly looking at me know! OMG my face is pouring with sweat now!? Calm down tic, you're nearly at the off licence! Walk into shop! OMG It's sooo hot in here! Tic you have only walked 2 mins to the shop and your drenched with sweat! Your such a mess! Yes I am aren't i!? Yes you are tic! You best have an extra large bottle of vodka to make you feel better! I guess your right ! Your always right! Oh, and don't forget to get 8 beers for the morning so you don't have to go through this again tomorrow afternoon aye!? You're right, you're so right!!!!

Ring any bells for anyone?

Great job!!!

I do understand how hard that must have been for you! I have a huge fear of leaving my house... let alone driving!

I give you so much credit for facing your fears and getting the help you need!

All the best to you
