Update:

I made it!

I decided not to say anything at all (once I got there I just didn't feel the need). I ordered a sparkling water with lime which is what I drink here at home all the time. It felt comfortable which was helpful. It was made easier since I arrived at the same time as the friend who doesn't really drink (she's one of those weirdos who can order a drink take two sips and be done). When my other friend arrived she said, "What? You're not drinking?" I told her no and then she said, "You mean I can't even tempt you?" I said, "No, ma'am you may not." Wow! The power!! I love it. Now this is a feeling I could get addicted to!
