Doc prescribed now addicted!!!!!!!!

I have been on Oxycodone of one form or another since '97. I recently reduced my dosage a lot but am stuck and can't seem to get down anymore. I am a single mother of three who wants to be and do better for them. Please help! I am very alone, anxious and frustrated. I have none to turn to and need support!!

Thanks

i think that is so common if you take them that long. it is difficult to stop taking them or stop anything.

Welcome!

I'm sure you're nervous about the dr appointment but that is the best thing for you to do.

I know, Anna! It is difficult waiting and getting through the days tip then! I have a 5-year-old and little to "0" patience!

stick around please and you will find much support and meet many new friends here.

It is a great place for those that still suffer

I think doctors will prescribe just about
anything unless they know we have an
addiction. For me, I hate going to Dr.'s
and am grateful I have been pretty healthy
in my 55 yrs. except for my addiction
for alcohol but have been sober for 24yrs.
with the help of my AA program which is
absolutely drug free. No meds to take
with my program to help me remain
sober.

Each and every time I have to make
a trip to the dr. which is very rare,
but if I do have to go, I make sure
with whom I talk to that if anything
that has to be prescribed that it be
non narcotic or habit forming because
I am in recovery for my alcohol addiction
and I certainly don't want anything to
enterfere with my sobriety. ABSOLUTELY
NOTHING.

That way, im treated properly and my
recovery is protected by all means.

I hope you find relief quickly so that
you can be the best parent you can
be to ur little ones and family.

Welcome to SR! Please go to the Dr. appointment, be honest about your addiction. He/She might tell you things that you disagree with, but be open and be prepared to change.

I know, you know, how important your children are. Please talk with your doctor, create a plan to quit oxy and execute that plan. I know you have it within you to do this, and I think you have the drive and determination to do so.

Good day friend, be well, I am rooting for you.

Hi noTHX, sorry you're struggling. I was when I gave up alcohol, some days worse than others. Time is a great helper, just keep taking small steps, I know we can be inclined to want to rush things.

I see sharon with years of sobriety and I wish it were me. But, I know one day it will be with my sobriety the most important thing in my life at this time.

All the best, if you get a bit nervousness before the docs you may want to write down what you have to say to them. I get nervous and sometimes if I don't know how to say anything I wrote it down and give them the details on paper which once they've talked to me I can discuss it easier. Hope that makes sense.xxx

I am just trying to stop myself from buying which I know will make me feel like a piece of you know what! Part of my struggle is not going through withdrawal when I am a single mom Trying to avoid snapping at them when it's all chemical! If that makes sense! I want to buy pills!!!!!! and feel like a huge loser
