Woohoo!
Hey everyone!
Just checking in! I've been reading posts often but haven't had much time to post.
Hope everyone is well!
I woke up on day 42... Sober! This is the longest I've been sober for years! It feels great!
School is going fabulous and I can already tell that my concentration in class and with school work is 20x better than when I was drinking! If only I had found this out sooner! Lol I'm making great connections with the professors in the psych department and my research is going great. I was invited to do an additional study and present it at a conference in April (I think it's April)! So exciting! I would have never even made the effort to talk to anyone at the university about research if I had been drinking! :-)
I've also gotten myself healthier. Lots of exercise and eating right. I'm down 16 pounds of my drunk/drunk eating weight. I'm actually starting to feel healthy again!
Life on the home front is going well also. The boyfriend and I are living in harmony and absolutely no unnecessary fights due to my drunkenness. We've had a few disagreements but those were resolved quickly and without me screaming absurdities at him.
Onward and upward! I can't wait to see what I can do when I go to grad school next year sober!

isn't it sweet to have "disagreements" that don't end in total chaos? I didn't know what it meant to actually sit down and talk like a reasonable adult! (I'm almost 38!) LOL
and that is great news about school as well.
