this site is whatever you want it to be. it can be a support network, a social group, a place to vent, a place to share your experience, strength and hope, a place to investigate options, a place for shared contemplation, a place of hope, a place of frustration, an answer, a solution....

what i notice is that people post here in all kinds of emotional states and physical states. drunk people post here seeking answers, hope, help, facts, opinions and so on. drunk people post here and lash out because to keep their pain inside is too much. sober people post here for the exact same darn reasons! i don't care if your sober or drunk. all that matters is that you're here and you're looking for interaction with sober alcoholics. good. we're here and we're listening.

we'll love you until you love yourself. we'll give you the answer and one day, you'll be ready to hear it. we'll help you but not mollycoddle you. we'll support you but we won't ******** you. we'll tell you what you need to hear, which may not be what you want to hear. you can love us, hate us or be indifferent. we'll be here when you need us and we'll be here when you don't. when you're ready to take your sobriety seriously, just let us know. we'll be here.

On the 28th of May you posted that you loved this site.

I'm sorry things aren't going well for you. Alcohol is a depressant and constant bingeing is not going to help your frame of mind.

I don't think you hate this site, I think you hate the effort it takes to get and stay sober. The ball is in your court. Hating on everything around you, including this site is drunk talk.

Be well. Hope you get out of the mouse wheel.

C'mon, let's not be nasty.
That's not the Newcomers forum spirit.

Comedy . . . . tragedy . . . .. we have it all on SR.

I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that as he was posting he was also working on some finish carpentry, in the kitchen, and was having real problems fitting the last piece of crown molding, due to a board warp or something along those lines, and in frustration he shouted, "this board is a joke!" and then just wanted to vent his frustration here.

It all depends on how you frame the issue.

Hah, "frame" . . carpentry . . really nailed that one, didn't I? Oh I did it again! "nailed"

Note to self: two cups of coffee is probably sufficient, that third cup may be pushing it a bit.

So sorry you are still having a difficult time staying stopped. The progression of this thing sucks.
You once said you loved this site. Keep coming back! It does help people.

Im sober for over three years. The guidance and support on SR has been invaluable. Getting an early foundation in sobriety is not easy but it can be done.

Copano, sobriety doesn't come easily, as you know. I have found this community to be a second chance for me after 21 years.

Sorry that you are struggling. Let us try to help, what do you have to loose?

Talk to us, we are here for each other when you are ready.

Copano, I am sorry to hear this. I was respondiing to your thread yesterday and I really feel for you. You are struggling right now and often when we are struggling, we push others away and reject help. It is easier to say that SR isn't working rather than take the hard road.

I hope you stick around but if not, please find a route that can help you.
