I'm so happy for you!
Every journey begins with a single step. Getting back into the workforce is so much better than unemployment. You can interact with other people and shine. We are all rooting for you

I "F-ed" up my once lucrative and busy career with drinking and untreated depression. I now make 25% of what I used to make. I wish I made more money to do some travel and replace my 25 year old car, but the thing runs well, looks almost new (85K miles, old lady car) and I have all that I need really. But I do a good gig even though I want to complain about it from time to time. My message is you can make it work and you can be proud you are making positive changes and contributions.
It is easier to find work when you are working and that will be a plus.
I am happy for you TDG.

Great news my friend!!!
There's a whole lot of doors that open when we keep sober and stay off the land mines.
I always thought that losing my job would be the straw that would break the camel's back with my sobriety.
But, I just can't imagine piling on alcoholic binges along with stress of being jobless.
Now is the times we both need to be our sharpest.
Fire hardened steel stays the sharpest.

hey TDG, what a wonderful post to read on a Friday!!! Your "can do" attitude is awesome!
I have to believe that good things come to those who work hard and want it!!!
You've been dealt some pretty tough hands lately but are overcoming them one step at a time and doing what needs to be done for yourself and your family.
Now, go make the most kickass sandwiches that place has ever seen

This is great news and such a great story. It is interesting, we live in a would where so many people would just throw away that opportunity and say "I can't take that", yet you are grateful. I find that attitude among many of us.
I wish you luck landing the job. Also, keep talking to the temp agency and tell them you are looking to step up your game. May lead to other opportunities down the line. You now have a proven track record with them. Make them an advocate.
It is awesome you took the initiative. Keep doing that and remaining positive!
Best,
Jeff
