SR is my primary source of support in being alcohol-free. I couldn't have made it through my first year without all of the supportive people here. Thanks to all of you!

It's a great place!! :grouphug:

SR is totally brilliant! There is no way that I would have been sober for this long (19 months) without it. SR is not only helping me to stay sober, but also to overcome a very longstanding problem with bulimia. Thank you so much, SR! :thanks

Friday May 16, 2014 - sitting on my parents couch. Feeling a gamut of emotions as I awaited my 9pm check-in at the detox in town.
I was scared (2nd time going there in 6 years), anxious, embarrassed, sad, angry...most of all disgusted with myself that I was going through this again. (2nd DUI) I didn't know if I was going to have a job, an apartment, a boyfriend, etc when I got out.
I was trying to pass the time, searching the internet for any and all recovery sites and came across this site. I joined. But didn't actively post until I was out of detox.

This board has been the ONE main support for me the last 3.5 months.
Thanks to everyone who contributes and of course, the amazing mods. :D

I thank goodness for the day I stumbled upon SR. It had been my primary support and has kept me sober. It was so hard in the beginning, but the support and encouragement I got from SR gave me hope and got me through it. And it's keeping me on track :)

Thank you SR, when I felt desperately alone and full of shame, I found you and having a shared experience has really fortified my resilience.

Finding SR has been a blessing for me. Today is Day 18; I never would have made it without all the encouragement and help (like ICE CREAM quiets the AV) :You_Rock_:thanks

I'm 72 hours in and SR has made me realize wanting to face my alcohol abuse isn't shameful.

I think a lot of people, myself included, initially think you're a failure for not being able to control alcohol - "so many other people drink responsibly...what's wrong with me?"

Seeing posts from people from all walks of life and all over the world has really made me embrace the sober life I'm trying to start!

SR has been of great support to me. Even though I have small victories, It's assisting me to the touchdown I am working toward (That relies totally upon me.)

I have become close (maybe the wrong word, but I don't think so) with some of the people on here that check in on me and vise versa and they have been paramount in my quest for sobriety.

But everyone who posts and replies has done wonders for me. We are not alone!!! No matter if we have 10 years or its our new day one.

A heartfelt thanks to SR and it's great community of people.

Back in the bad days I was on Facebook all the time.
Now I'm on SR. Less drama and haters.
Healthy place to hang my hat :)

I am so glad I found this place. SR has been tremendously helpful. I have 24 days (and growing) under my belt, and I believe SR has been a large factor in that. I don't get to meetings (in IOP already), so this is a good place to go for support in the meantime.

Thank you all for just being here.
