Closed Meeting
Hello all, I'm looking to attend my 1st AA meeting (in a very long time) tonight, the only meeting is a closed meeting. I wanted to take a friend (ex) with me for support, would that be frowned upon?

I don't think so as long as the friend might only say something like "I'm a friend of the program." and perhaps not participate, just listen.
It realy depends on the type of meeting also. Perhaps a step meeting might not be a good idea. Ask before you go in.

There are open and closed meetings for a reason. Why don't you take your friend with you to an open meeting? I know several people who only attend closed meetings for the sole reason there are no "outsiders".

Just call up and explain they should be fine about it
I have brought my gf before to a couple closed meetings
I just rang up explained that I couldn't do it alone with strangers at first they said bring her along whatever is comfortable
