Brought a 6-pack....
 

Its been a weird day. I became manic and went through rooms cleaning and packing away more stuff for Good Will. I was very irritated, too on account of today...its been a year since my ******-ass break-up with a waste of my time. So, when I finished packing the Good Will bus, I had a craving...this was definitely a trigger. Like a maniac, I booked it to the Jewel....and got me a six-pack.

Does Diet-rite still have that bite like Tab? :)

My point in this thread is that even though I am Sober, that there are times when I really need to step back and ground myself. I listen to my Sober voice and God, and know that I am NOT last year, the crap and shame during that relationship no longer matters. Its my Serenity, and Diet Rite, which may taste like TAB, but I don't know what TAB tastes like :biggthump

I know there are much worse things you could drink.
I was just joking... Sorta.

Shasta diet cola and Shasta diet grapefruit is better than Fresca in my book. I love them, as well as Crystal Light Pomegranate and Cherry, and Pink lemonade. Once a month when I am hot and bothered from working in my yard in the heat and want a real kick then I just get a high test original coke, with sugar, caffeine, and the power to remove any rust accumulating in my innards.

I used to have a very bad Diet Coke habit; probably 8 or more a day starting at breakfast. Diet Coke made me sick to my stomach and it made me hungry, but I kept drinking it...I liked the bite. It took me years and several tries before I kicked it all together, now I drink flavored seltzer. It has a great bite. My point is...I was able to give Diet Coke up after many tries, now I hope I can do the same with Prosecco. Far worse than Diet Coke in my book.

DAB, I know you are only looking out for my best interests, I thank you :). Admittedly, I love carbonated things and drink water less than I should, usually during workouts.

Some soda, I can't tolerate because they used to be mixers....coke zero, diet ginger ale, and sprite zero all tast alcoholic to me, if that makes sense.

I walked to the store at noon today to grab a diet coke.......

I was and am a firm opponent to aspartame and diet drinks.......but I'm a little busy......I'll kick them soon enough. During the week I am only drinking one. Two on weekend days....

Those 6 packs are alright in my book!! :)

Being a diet soda junky is a bazillion times better than being an alcoholic. Hey we have to have something to work one

If I go to a bar or restaurant where my wife can order her usual Scotch rocks water and a twist, I order right behind her a scotch rocks soda in a tall glass with a twist, hold the scotch. I DO make sure they got my order right before they go.

So far I've still got 3 left! I'm "nursing" them.

Of course, I did my weekly shopping today and came back with a 24 pack! :beachball

it'll last a couple weeks.

yea, 24 beers only lasts 1, maybe 1.5 nights, not funny, just true. Much better than booze!

I didn't know dietrite was still being made..remember that as a kid, I used to 'work' the catholic monday night bingo when I was in 6th grade. All the ladies would order Tab, diet rite or fresca with their donuts, fries and cookies.
