Hoping this makes sense.
Had a week sober. Spending lots of fun interactive time with the family, productive at home etc.
Did have a MAJOR blowup at my ex husband the other night... of course in thru driveway..: react
As a teacher, I am back to work. Interviewed for a new job today (cross your fingers please). Made the decision to drink last night. Of course too much. I can now make it a week, but when I drink its bad. Time is running out before something horrible happens.
So, my question is. How do people deal with stress. Not the stress you know you have but the stuff you don't realize is there until you exploit or drink. I don't want to do either.
I'm moving on today with the great resolve that always comes after drinking, but would greatly appreciate any input, insight, suggestions etc.
Thanks all. And if you are thinking a drink sounds good right now, don't do it.

In any situation I use grace and patience as much as I can ppl can be fickle ppl can be thick its how we, you, I deal with it
If you feel stressed/anxious to the point of relapse you have to exit the situation
A bit like the candle you put out by placing a glass over the top you must starve the situation of oxygen so it doesn't grow and continue you do this I believe with grace and patience
Not easy when dealing with certain people but we must have safeguards for ourselves in these situations
Hang in there, my fingers are crossed
You can do it
its always possible

escape route always in place
time to get away from it all by myself for a while
then I realize
no matter what happens in life
it is not worth drinking over
note
my wife is a school teacher
she has had friends over the years who lost their certification to teach
sometimes booze and or drugs played the major roll
