I never forget what it was like to feel broken. I can remember that darkness as if it's still inside me, buried somewhere deep down. A place that by choice I will never revisit. My world, as I knew it, was over. My arms, all bruised. My feet, black on the bottom. Punching my legs, wishing I wasn't on this earth anymore. How did I get here? Oh but of course. Pills, powder, needles.As a kid my mom had to bribe me to take any type of medicine to make the fever go away. But this was different. Misery. The kind I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Though I had no enemies, no real friends, no one. I was consumed by nothingness. Nov 2,2012. The day I changed my life for the better. Addiction is real. 22 months clean. Never forget where you came from!
