Hi Everyone, I am coming back to this site after being gone for two weeks since I have finally committed to 100% sobriety. I took a break from SR because I thought (once again) that I could easily drink on the weekends and moderate my beer intake and I discovered (once again) that moderation of beer for me is an illusion. If I don't start with one I won't have too many. Out of the last 22 days, I only drank 4 days, but I'm just going to count consecutive days. I didn't drink yesterday, so today is my day 2.

Glad to have you back, and congratulations on two days.
It took me a little experimentation with drinking to prove to myself I was an alcoholic.
It always ended in miserable results.
I can not have one drink, or a few.
I hope you learn from your experience and best to you.

Yeap, abstinence never cured or fixed me either, that first drink over a few weeks would bring me back to as bad as ever!!

Tweak your plan and keep moving forward!! You can do this!!

Welcome back. I joined this site last week and everyone is so understanding and supportive. I am counting the days too. I tried moderation more times than I can remember and I failed each time. I ended up drinking more. Weekends can be tough so when this weekend approaches we are here to help.

Thanks all. I always get in danger when I think I can handle a couple of beers. I sometimes can have a couple no problem. However I never know when I start whether a couple will turn into 10.....and that is why I cannot have the 1st one. I like being sober so I'm done messing around with sobriety.
