she's gone
I am so sorry for your loss and the sadness it has caused those that loved her. I often wonder why I was spared. I could have been your sister in a heart beat but I guess dieing an alcoholic was not part of the plan. The only conclusion I have been able to come up with is maybe through me others can live. I pray that my words and actions might just be the thing that keeps someone sober today.
God has done for me what I could not do for myself and I know giving back is what I need to do. By giving it away I keep it

Thank you for sharing this poignant message, Altoids. Yours is an important reminder that this disease does take the ultimate toll.
My condolences on the loss of your sister. Your recovery serves her memory well.

Thank you all so much for the kind words and private messages. I told some of the responses to my mom. Knowing that my sister's story may help someone else live is what matters to us.

Wow. So sad. 35 is so young. I am so glad you are there for your family and for others. It is a great gift to them. Thank you for making me atop, take a breath, realize how lucky I am. Thinking of you, your sister and your family.
