I love posts like this! This shows that quitting and living happy, healthy, and free are possible no matter how bad the addiction got and how much damage was done.

That is awesome and inspiring!

How long into your recovery did you get the swelling from liver problems? Im on day 22 but have been concerned about my liver.

I had the liver swelling a few weeks before the hospital and still drank up to the morning I was admitted. That's insanity. CT scan showed my liver to be twice its normal size. I swelled up, turned yellow, bloated belly, pain, high ammonia levels, no coags and I had to get a plasma transfusion in the hospital. Liver enzymes were outstanding - triple digits.

The swelling went down about a month into sobriety, 2 weeks after discharge. It took 2 weeks of physical therapy to walk straight again. All lab results are normal, now. I was sent home with a walker..but I never had to use it .
