The world is at your doorstep. Alcohol free, you can do whatever you want. And remember it.
I hope you have some sober fun.

You are in London, England for goodness, gracious sake! I think you can find something to do for a weekend.

Don't let your alcoholic brain convince you only that only drinking will bring you relieve from boredom.

I just hit Day 5 myself (about 15 minutes ago, in fact, lol!).

I'm pondering the same thing, but I BELIEVE I will be good this weekend. I am going to GET OUTSIDE, walk, go to a movie, the park, cook, do yardwork. I AM going to find things to do to keep busy.

Oh... and stain the deck. Gotta do that too.

Hello MichaelJo, I perceive two issues in your post. What to do this weekend and you need sober friends. I suggest putting yourself in situations where you interact with others in sober situations. Take a class, volunteer at a soup kitchen, volunteer putting returned books away at a library, get involved in local politics and/or social causes, join Toastmasters, whatever. Many, if not all of the aforementioned are no cost activities. You can be a guest at Toastmasters and don't have to spend $ on membership. Check out local newspapers, community internet sites and see what opportunities exist. God speed. Resolv

Day 5 for me also Michael, keep up the good work we know being AF is worth all the effort and things can only get easier. Just remember when we were younger we didn't need alcohol to enjoy ourselves so we don't need it now. Keep it up ... I'm never going back down that road again :-)

Thanks guys for all your support.

Got through last night. Was kind of strange. Wondered around aimlessly after work not sure why? Just to pass time I guess. Came home. Watched a TV programme. Then listened to a sleep meditation thing. Woke up feeling great.

Thanks to SR. Xxx

Great job MJ.

Use how your feeling this morning as motivation for not drinking again today. Tomorrow you can feel just as great.
