bobquin, first off let me say CONGRATS to you!! Just remain grounded and true to yourself most importantly!! Hold yourself accountable for all your actions and keep yourself close to those who have the same common goal as you!! Be proud of yourself and never ever ever give up for anything or anyone!! Life is full of Freedom, as long as we are willing to continue chasing it!! Once again, God Bless you on your endeavor of remaining clean!!
Congrats, Bob! I'm right there withya, just celebrated 3 months after my liver almost failed. I went in yellow, bloated and near comatose/death, and 3 months later I got my life and my body back. There are no words to describe being on the brink and then coming back...to LIVE. God bless you
Great work, Bob ! I've had to start over many times, but the longest period of sobriety I had was 7 months. It wasn't until 6 months that I felt totally great. I feel really good now at 2 1/2 months - I attribute that to daily AA meetings. I feel like a huge burden has been lifted from my shoulders - I sure you feel the same way. Again, great job and enjoy
There aren't words to describe how grateful I am to be sober for six months today.
I awoke on February 13th of this year in a detox unit here in Pennsylvania. My liver was nearly in a state of cirrhosis, I was a heavy smoker, and hadn't exercised in nearly 5 years. During my detox period, my blood pressure reached 210/170 and I was more scared than I have ever been in my entire life.
Today, six months of sobriety later, my liver levels have returned to normal, I am nicotine-free, and I am working out 4-5 days per week. My doctor actually called me HEALTHY. Unreal!
I am insanely lucky to have the most amazing husband and son on the planet, and I will never, ever forget my 20+ years of alcohol abuse.
Every day is a gift, and I'll never take that gift for granted again.

A toast to Bobquin!
( sober party friends from SR surround Bobquin with glasses full of sparkling water....sounds of excited of revelers abound....)
The Toast......Here's to you my friend! You have been given the greatest gift of all....LIFE! Your family and friends are humbled by the grace you have been given and what you have done with the opportunity. Keep it up, and CONGRATUATIONS!!!
(sounds of glasses clinking together raised in great salutations to Bobquin!)
Someone shouts out.....TELL US HOW YOU DID IT!!!
You are all incredibly kind to share so many beautiful thoughts and words of encouragement with me. I feel insanely lucky to be part of such a supportive and caring community: the community of sobriety in general, and that of SR specifically. You all ROCK!
