2 weeks Sober

I'm coming out of my second Fri/Sat being sober. This week was going well without any cravings until Fri/Sat night.I was longing for my usual 2 bottles of merlot, but made some green tea instead. I'm so grateful to have found this site, reading all the posts has helped me get to the 2 week mark. Thanks All!

Hi and congratulations with 2 weeks sobriety and remember it gets better and better each day free of alcohol.
Good advice I got when at your point was “keep coming and just don’t pick up that first drink one day at a time.” It works for so many if we let it.

BE WELL

Today makes 23 days for me. This was a difficult weekend for me as well. I have been getting through it by reading. I read sobriety books, bogs, and come to this forum. I downloaded several sobriety apps on my phone, so I am well armed with ammunition for my stinking thinking! You can do this!!

Heather Kopp wrote a book called, Sober Mercies. It really helped me understand my drinking from a whole new perspective. You might want to try it. I am reading it for the second time in two weeks!

@Ikelee Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to look for that book. I read Allen Carr's Easy Way to Quit Drinking before I made the commitment to stop. Loved it : )

Congrats on your second weekend too!

LOL Being sober certainly changes vibe! I don't think my family knows what to do with me since i'm not sick in bed all Saturday...Ha! It is very calming being sober, I'm enjoying it so far : )

What I love the most about being sober is that I feel sooo good when I wake up in the morning. My eyes are not all puffy and dry, my head is clear, and I feel great from the very beginning of the day. I sleep so much better now. I wouldn't trade this feeling for any bottle of wine.

22 days today! Yesterday I went to a wedding and the booze was flowing. I started feeling jealous of the people around me drinking and dancing. I was thinking maybe you dont have a problem a few wont hurt, but then I brought myself back. Knowing that I would hate myself the next day and I know if I drank at that wedding I would start drinking at home again by myself. No good so on to another week!
