Hi dmason - the first day is always pretty hard, but you'll find a lot of support here.

Read around and post as much as you like, check out the chat room, or the arcade.

We have a Class of August support thread too - you'd be very welcome there

Things do get better so hang in there

Welcome to SR dmason

We know just how you feel. It's uncomfortable for a few days, but you will begin to feel better & more hopeful. Thankfully, you never have to feel this miserable again. We all understand how it is in those early days - you're among people who care. Glad you found us.

Hey dmason! I'm on day 2. Was having clammy hot flashes all day at work. Tonight I too did not know what to do with myself. Bored but antsy. Lost for what to do with myself lol I hung in there tho. Now I'm in bed HOPING I will be able to sleep tonight. Last night was very fitful once I actually got to sleep, which took forever.

I just woke up...My body actually feels rested but I all of a sudden have a really bad cold and numbness in my legs. Omg is their anything I could take or do I have to fight it off? I'm however, proud of myself

Hi and welcome to what can be a wonderful life if we just don’t drink one day at a time. The great thing is that if we don’t pick up the first drink we don’t have to get sober AGAIN. It will get easier after around 5 days and thereafter.

BE WELL

Welcome! Congrats on Day 1 dMason and day 2 Summerfall! You could always Google local AA meetings in your area and check out a few meetings. I have found the greatest friends and support through AA. And yes, it does get better : )
