Ch-ch-ch-changes! Weekender Thread Aug 8-10
Another successful weekender thread! A home away from home where people understand what each phase of a weekend means when replacing alcohol and drugs as the main focus.
This isn't about perfection but rather a great place to learn as we sometimes make it and sometimes struggle a bit.
This weekend was way to much for me. I am going back to a nice quiet weekend pattern. No more stepping out into situations like that. It's all still to new for me to handle.
Next up? Sober Monday! Off to work!

But you did handle it. It may not have been pleasant--and not the easiest time in the world--but you got through it sober. That makes it a significant notch in your belt! You've got our sincerest admiration!
Yeah Gilmer I did stay sober but the weekend was painful. I am dealing with the aftermath. And as one good friend said to me I am the kind to extend the pain by wanting closure. As compared to just cutting the cord and being done. Accepting the pain as is with out trying to change it.
Either way... It sucks.

It's simple.
Physical and mental well-being. Which is everything we have!
And, as someone above mentioned, a certain ease at passing through life. You get used to doing everything hungover, but damn there's gotta be an easier way than that!
Thanks everybody.

I hear you, Weasel. I once had a devastating relationship I will never, ever have closure on in this life. I will never hear an apology. It has taken me fifteen years, but I rarely think about it anymore. It used to consume me.
I have a scuba diving hangover today. Sooooo sore from lugging gear around. BUT, I love this hangover. And I LOVE MY LIFE!!! Thanks for the weekend support, gang. You all ROCK and I love reading about your weekends.
And someone mentions fried pickles. Um. . . love 'em. Ack! and now I want some!
