Day seven... Feels good!
Just reached day 7 and feeling pretty good so far. My advice, for what it's worth, is for anyone who's lurking and trying to pluck up the courage to try this is to just do it. There was no one more terrified than me about giving up alcohol this is probably the longest I've done for years. The feeling of waking up in the morning without a hangover is better than the buzz the night before. That said I'm still having to fight some strong cravings but I just try to remember that feeling the next day. Long way to go but taking each day at a time. Please give it a go what's the worst that can happen?

I like driving to work in the morning not being worried about being pulled over by police. I also like talking to co workers not being worried if they can smell alcohol on my breath. Why oh why do we do this to ourselves? Surely we all deserve more than this!
Something that stuck with me for a long time was
"You never wake up regretting that you DIDN'T drink the night before"
So true! Also that feeling of waking with energy ready to attack the day rather than the hungover "Oh god not again" feeling is amazing
Well done on 7 days my friend keep it going!

Yes, this! Me too. Yesterday was one week for me. I woke up in a panic out of habit and quickly started trying to remember the night before, checking my phone for clues, etc. Then I fully woke up and realized I didn't have to do that! I had gone to bed sober and had not done a thing wrong the night before.
Congratulations on day 7, that is HUGE. I am on day 8 here and also feeling great, loving being sober!

and yes again! I remember driving my kids to school thinking "christ, am I still drunk? Is this ok to be driving?" Such a sh*tty feeling. And dangerous.
