Day 10 - made it halfway to the liquor store... and turned around. :-/

Day 10 - felt like I started to make it over the hump yesterday. Today was just another day, but I had had enough of this withholding stuff from myself...

The draw of alcohol was pretty intense and I got the in the car and thought for sure I was going to overspend at the liquor store and have a nice time tonight...

Made it halfway there... and turned into a parking lot to collect my thoughts. Took about 10 minutes... Turned around and drove back home.

Hmmmmm... frustrating to have to deal with this "issue".

On to Day 11 I guess...

Perfect! I remember reading on the secular forum to ask, "Why am I doing this?". I remember doing that in my early days. Slowing things down in your head really works. congratulations.

I'm glad you thought it through.

10 days is great - but it's still pretty early...don't beat yourself up for craving - we did that for years

There are some good tips here tho:

Clones....there is nothing worse than that zombie feeling/mouse on a wheel feeling that I remember vividly on my first fail at staying sober.

I felt like my whole body was taken over and leading me to that store. I commend you for not going in. That's huge.

Remember this day. Remember you do not want to drink.
