I'm new here
Welcome YOLO. I'm a new member (1 day), and received a really warm welcome from this group. I'm still learning my way around, but have already received a great deal of support from everyone here. Maybe search the forums for things you have questions about and/or jump in and post questions.
I have to admit.... I have been largely avoiding social situations where drinking is expected. I haven't really announced my sobriety to anyone, so I'm still relying on white lies to get me through: fake ulcer, losing weight, driving, etc... I will find the courage to come clean at some point..
Congratulations on your sobriety and welcome to the group. :-)

I'm new here, too. Glad to have you join, YOLO. I just look around the newcomer forums and sometimes feel moved to post something. Someone told me to speak up and I have to admit I'm a bit afraid of saying something that shows how new I am to sobriety. Then I realized that, of course I'm going to show that! My point? Just join in!
Welcome yolo! 20 days sober this time. First time I admitted that I am an alcoholic. The quote that gets me through the day is " if I am an alcoholic, then I can't drink. If I am not, then I don't need to.
Take it a day at a time. One bad days, take it ten minutes at a time.

Hey YOLO! I'm on Day 24. I used alcohol as a social lubricant and was pretty wary of trying to socialize sober. I was basically hiding out in my apartment the first two weeks, then I was forced to interact with others I wasn't so comfortable around. But I got through it sober, and it wasn't that bad. I know you can stop drinking and still be social. Might be weird at first, but that's like all new things. You can do it!
Hey YOLO! Day 3 here! When I've been sober in the past and been social I've noticed it gets let difficult. You get stronger.
It bothers me that alcohol is everywhere it seems. I just have to remind myself that it's easier for me to wait out their one or 2 drinks and they will be done. But it would be 4-7 for me and I'd still be drinking alone at home after the event is over! Hang in there.

Hello YOLO! I'm relatively new as well. Tomorrow will be 12 days sober!
Honestly, I've been avoiding social situations where drinking is involved. I think I'm too new in recovery to take on that task!
Eventually!!
