When the world doesn't cooperate with your attempts to get sober
When the world doesn't cooperate with your attempts to get sober
Here I am on night two (again). I knew it was already going to be hard enough to fall asleep tonight and get a good enough rest for work tomorrow.
The battle couldn't just end there though.
Some new people moved into the apartment below me over the weekend and apparently they have intentions to have a ******* rave in their apartment on a Sunday nights. It's 12:53 a.m. and DJ Super Bass has been playing for about two hours now. Pounded on the floor, no use. I'd go down and beat on the door, but it would REALLY ruin my night if I got assaulted by whatever slobs moved in there, so maybe I shouldn't do that.
Even if the music magically stopped right now, I'm so irritated and peeved off that I'll never get to sleep.
Perfect. Just what I needed.
Sorry, just needed to vent somewhere and my cat isn't a good listener.

The trouble I had was I drank for anything - good times bad times and every emotion inbetween.
When you drink like that, everything is a trigger. You jave to learn to find other ways to deal with 'stuff'.
Drinking won't make the neighbours any quieter - but speaking to the body corporate or landlord, or even the police, just might.
Ear plugs can be remarkably effective too

Ain't no shame in venting or yammerin' bout what is taxing our painfully low frustration tolerance in early sobriety : )
Noisy, partying neighbors when trying to sleep are pretty difficult for anyone..but in sobriety infancy? Man, it's freakin' horrendous. Maybe start blasting some John Denver or something : )
