Ok, I'm 18 months sober and most of the time I have no problems with being sober. Lately tho , I've been feeling so alone. It saddens me. I've been comparing past summers to my new sober summers and I must say my sober summers are really dull now.

I feel like no one wants me around bc I'm sober. I don't get invites to go anywhere any more. I was really hurt when I didn't get invited to my friends birthday party. I don't drink anymore but I could have gone to wish her a happy birthday but I'm just constantly overlooked and I'm not used to it at all!!! It's so hard trying to be happy and have fun when no one is around to be happy with . I have my bf but it would be nice to have some freaking friends back in my life .

I don't want to drink ever again but sometimes I feel like being sober isn't worth being lonely. Ugh I haven't felt like this is such a long time. I can't wait for it to go away . Sick of it .

Instead of waiting for an invite, organize something yourself and invite some folks to join you.

I dunno about you Stash but I realised that most of my friendships were really based on alcohol.

You can find new friends, or hook up with old ones, where the common element is something other than drinking.

do you have any hobbies or interests? Anything you'd like to pursue?

I have friends, family, dogs a job and hobbies. Just some days I feel like I'm starting all over again. I feel a lot better now tho. These little spells are quicker to go away now. Thanks everyone for listening <3

That's terrible that you weren't invited to your friends birthday party.

Maybe she was concerned that you would be tempted to drink if you went.

Maybe she thought she was protecting your best interest?
