Day 22 and a question
I'm feeling good, day 22 today. Chores today and that isn't fun but knowing I'll stop when they get too boring and not when I want to pass out is a good thing lol.
My question is around etiquette. I agreed to go get a 30 day chip when I hit that landmark, but I don't want to share, talk with strangers, or hug anybody I've never laid eyes on before, all of which I hear is pretty vital to the whole chip-giving process. What to do? I can't back out, I promised I would do it...will they give a non-participant a chip?

I am not an AA'er so I really don't know. Maybe, you could just say "Hi. I'm Change4Better and I'm 30 days sober" and leave it at that.
Good luck and congratulations on your upcoming 30 days!!!!!!

There are no rules but there may be certain customs in your area. If it’s a strong issue with you perhaps you can go up and receive the chip, shake the persons hand and just say thank you all. Make it as simple as you want to.
Remember that your among people who understand as every one went through the same uncertainties as well. Enjoy and cherish the chip.

you can do (or not do) all of those things and still get your token
I highly recommend taking all earned tokens

I did not like all the physical touching in AA in the beginning. Or ever, really. I was so shut down when I went in.
I got better in time. You may (or may not) too. No one is going to make you do anything you don't want to do, just be clear about how much you are willing to do and stick to it. By 60 days, I was happy to get the hug and the chip. 30 days, not so much. Chip? Thank you! Hug...um...okay? Speaking is always optional.

Good for you!
I have no suggestions regarding AA, but I strongly feel you should do what is comfortable for you. Part of what led me to alcoholism was doing things I thought I 'should' do, and for the most part, I've removed all of those from my life.
