I look at it like an allergy. Some people are allergic to nuts or dairy. I'm allergic to alcohol. An allergic reaction can land a person in the hospital (or kill them), so can alcohol. Alcohol can also land you in jail/prison. So if you can't control it, why bother? The times in the past 2 weeks I've had opportunities to drink, I've said to myself, why bother, and that makes me remember that it's the same destructive road it's always been (for me).
