While we are busy drinking alcohol we are so stuck in ourselves that we don’t take in to consideration how many people we hurt in so many different ways. I would like to hear from my Friends at SR the way we will NOT hurt people today. I will start…………

I’m not going to hurt my kids by with the dishonesty that goes with my alcohol intake.

Going to be a good employee and be productive for my employer.

I am going to NOT hurt my parents by being sober and appreciative. I am not going to hurt my boyfriend by giving him the time and space he needs to heal. I am not going to hurt myself by being sober and taking better care of myself and all my animals.

I will not wake up my parents at 3am in morning with a phone call from jail again! I am an adult male in my mid 30's now, but for a 5 year period from the age of 28-34, I was arrested around 5 or 6 times. Mainly drunk and disorderly stuff, a DUI, bar fights etc. They are retired, already raised me, so they shouldn't have to deal with this crap now. Ironically, as a teenager, I was quite well behaved and gave them no trouble at all. I never even had a speeding ticket.

I won't be the lying, deceitful, untrustworthy, inconsistent, callous person I am when drinking. I was oblivious to all the chaos I created. Never again.
