28 days later...
So seeing as were in the early hours of Monday morning here in England,I've officially made it 4 weeks sober. To me that's a pretty good milestone and I wish to continue on the same path. And to those struggling, did I think on day one or a few days in that in 4 weeks I wouldn't touch a drop of alcohol or drugs? No I didn't but that's the toughest part and the mind playing tricks. The best thing to do is the old cliche of one day at a time.Honestly if I can reach this milestone I think others definately can.
A few days ago I was thinking about having a beer but the one day at a time cliche worked for now.I hope this helps someone struggling...apologies as I'm a crap writer!

Hey Django - congrats on the awesome accomplishment! 👊 I have been a lurker here for several years, "sort of kind of" trying to quit drinking for the past 5 years. I just hit day 35 - the longest I've gone in the past 20 years (outside of 2 pregnancies). I've made it a few weeks here and there, but every time my head starts to rationalize that I can now start moderation, like "normal people" then quickly figure out that I cannot. So, here I am....bring on day 36....
Hey Django! Wooooo-eeee. 28 days is something special. You are admirably fighting the good fight. So happy to hear that you worked through the urge to drink a beer a few days ago. And you are right. That cliche about one day at a time works really well. Every day is a new day, right? Keep it up and love to see your familiar face on the weekend thread
