Question confused

Am I really a strong binge drinker who can get this problem under control, still casually drink? OR, am I really an alcoholic who needs some true help with staying sober completely? Just wondering where to go with all this. Only 3 days sober but I'm a binge drinker. Do I even count these days. I know once or twice a week or an entire weekend I'll want to drink again then I may be sober for many days then I repeat. I know I have a problem that's why I'm here. Am I just trying to make excuses?

Hi Edmgrl. Welcome to SR.

I don't know those things, but others here do, and will be happy to help you.

Congrats on your three days!

They count if you want them to count toward no more drinking!

Good going, and best of luck to you. You can do this... SR is here for you.

You're the one that has to decide if drinking is causing problems in your life. There are self-tests out there on the internet to help you decide.

As wise Dee says, if drinking is a problem for you the solution is to stop drinking.
