Hey
Hey there,
I'm Rawiri. Kiwi dude living in London. I haven't been on to a forum like this ever before but I figure it can only help my journey.
Sunday, 20 July, 2014... today is Day 29.
In the past month, I've somehow managed to attend two birthday parties, a leaving do, an Eminem gig, the San Fermin Festival in Spain and a week-long conference with free booze, completely substance free. This is the longest time I've been sober since the age of 15.
The adjustment has been... interesting!
Good to meet you all; looking forward to sharing stories and support.
Peace!

Thanks for the warm welcome folks!
Have managed to get a fair bit of 'life' work done today... heading out to Acton this afternoon where I will no doubt be the only one knocking back the cranberry juice!

Hey, thanks Purpleknight and Hevyn!
Just returned home from a catch up with a rowdy bunch of awesome people I went to Spain with a couple weeks ago. They still can't believe I ain't drinking and I lost count of the times I was called a ***** but I guess its an adjustment for us all - especially considering what I was like up until recently.
Cool though; glad I went. I did feel like I was missing out at different moments but overall I was fine.
...Bring on Day 30.

Ahh... good question. I don't really know in the midst of it all, I can not drink... maybe I'm just stubborn?! But the incident that happened 30 days ago makes me not want to be under the influence. I guess that's stopping me from downing the pints.
