I would google "workshops on addiction 'your town'" and see what comes up..

Google is usually good for that kind of thing. There's any number of free seminars around but I've never done any so I have no recommendations.

Are you interested in AA/NA? If so google up "AA conferences roundups and conventions". You'll find a lot of stuff.

AA discussion meetings are full of alcohol drinking professionals sharing their experience, strength and recovery. You don’t have to say a word, just listen as much as you want. Perhaps after the meeting a one on one question is certainly part of recovery and welcome.
