Unhappy problem

I'm finally extending for help. Yet another blackout last night. I can't let this continue. I feel terrible today too. I know I've got a problem. Where to begin..

Welcome to the site! You'll find lots of support here.

Where to begin? Start by making the commitment that you will not drink again.

Only you can stop it. No one can make you drink.

Welcome!

It's hard, but you can do it. Start by not drinking today and get rid of any alcohol in your home. We do understand.

I suggest posting at least once a day in the 24 hour recovery connections thread in Daily Support forum. Make a commitment each day to not drink for 24 hours.

Welcome edmndgrl. You don't have to feel like this anymore. This is a great little community to help you in this new journey. Make a plan. Read books (I got a lot from Drinking: A Story to mention one). Maybe check out a local recovery group...
It can be done. Be open to whatever it takes. Pull up a chair and stay a great while.

If you believe it exists, find your path to it.

You can do this.

Hello and welcome.

Getting sober like other have said starts with day1.
I understand about the financial issues caused by Alcohol. I am still clearing up 30k that I accumulated over the years. It will take time and facing this sober gives me a fighting chance. Try not to make drastic decisions in early recovery like bankruptcy for example. Your objectivity is blurred.

Good luck!

Welcome! I too was a blackout drinker and can't begin to tell you the horrific stories! It can get better. I tried a thousand or more times to quit on my own and never could! For me it took the program of AA, I would suggest you put some action to your desire to quit and find a meeting. It's saved my life and I can't suggest it to others enough! Pulling for you!
