Binge drinker from the uk here, starting my first ever aa meeting tomorrow, so feeling a bit nervous/ embarrassed/ scared/ ashamed.... Not sure what to expect. Will find out tomorrow though!

Good for you! I went to some AA meetings when i first stopped drinking, i always found the people there to be very welcoming and supportive. No need to worry!

Welcome OnTheWagon. SR is a great place to find support, and glad to hear you are going to an AA meeting tomorrow as well. What you should expect is a group of people who have exactly the same problem as you that will welcome you.

welcome! It's totally normal, but I promise there's nothing to feel embarrassed or ashamed about! With time you'll see how many great people have the exact same problem. Sobriety is great and will give you something to feel proud of.

I was going on a hen night tomorrow, which I just *cancelled!!!* today. First time Ive ever said no to a drinking session & told my friends I'm no longer a drinker, long way to go but boy do I feel proud!
