Day 5.... Still doing ok
Day 5.... Still doing ok
Started "recovery" last october and the longest ive made it so far is 20 days... 13 days twice. Im on day 5 this time... Havent posted on here in awhile as I am motivated once again, and maybe putting it out there will help this time.
Made it through the day 1 fight... The depression and lethargy of days two and three. Now working on tiredness and the sore eyes of days four and five.
Believe it or not. I am a competitive athlete, a racing cyclist, and eat a fantastic diet and take great care of my nutrition.... I guess i tell myself that i cant be "perfect" and kicking drinking is just too much. Changing an every day habit of 15 years isnt easy.
Im tired of the relapses and starting over... One day.... Heck, one hour at a time.

Welcome clone... you're in the best place for help & support... The people on SR have been a life saver for me.. I would never have made 17 days without them.. Your post just goes to show that alcohol does not discriminate!!
Congrats! You sound like me.. in the last 2 years I cant count the number of times I've tried to quit. The longest I've made it was 2 weeks, that I really cant even count because I was still on prescription pain meds. One thing that I've noticed is that lately, my attempts to quit have gotten closer and closer together, and everytime I relapse and drink for a week or 2, I'm more frustrated than the time before and more motivated to quit. I am only on day 3, but this time feels more promising than the last. Day 5 is great, 2 more days and youve made it a week!
