Having a Rough Evening

The last couple of days have been kind of an emotional ride. I'm feeling kind of irritable over some events that transpired the last few days.

I decided to retreat to Netflix and watch a movie. I have the kitties treats before the movie started.

My big guy, Bailey, came downstairs for treats. It's kind of odd that he's hanging out upstairs but maybe he just wanted to be away from the other kitties. About 15 minutes after eating the treats, he threw up.

Maybe it's a reaction to the heat. I picked him up and put him on the couch and noticed his bottom was wet from feces. He promptly left the couch and went back upstairs. He's currently hiding somewhere.

I have an appointment to take him to the vet in the morning. My anxiety is through the roof right now. Like verge of panic attack. Maybe it's dumb, but this is my buddy, my friend..... And I feel so helpless. He's never been sick before.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Aarryckha,
I am sorry you are having a rough evening. I know how much you love your cats. I am sure you will feel much better after the vet visit tomorrow. My dog has been having breathing problems lately and had a vet visit today. I was terribly worried going in today but left feeling relieved that he will be okay. I am sure your dear Bailey will be just fine. Let us know tomorrow how it goes.

Sending positive vibes your way Aarry. I hate getting those days where anixiety just takes over. Use to drink....alot just to calm down. Now my eyes are truely open. Im feeling actual feelings and not numbing them and waking up with a killer hangover not knowing what happened. Thats what I like to tell myself because it helps. Any ways Stay strong and you can do this!!!!

My thoughts are with you and Bailey.

During difficult moments like this with my own family, I like to give a brief minute of gratitude that at least I'm sober to face whatever comes--even if that's a trip to the vet or E.R. Sobriety doesn't prevent these stressful times but it helps us face them with a clear mind and make the best choices possible when they happen.

Hi Aarryckha, sorry you're having a rough evening. Whenever one of my cats has had an upset stomach it's always turned out to be nothing serious. Taking him to the vet is a good idea, it will put your mind at ease. Hope everything goes well. Best wishes.

Best wishes to your kitty! Hope he just has a tummy bug or something.

Cat problems are really hard. I had to take both my kitty buddies on the one-way trip to the vet last year so I'm pretty much done with pets for the foreseeable future, it was just too much. I miss them a lot sometimes but I don't miss changing litter at all.

I hope your big fella is okay. Our family had a pet for 18 years and just like a kid he would get sick every now and then, it happens! Hopefully he's just got a nasty lil bug that will clear soon. All the best!

Thank you guys for all the support!

So the docs think most of it was due to the recent heat. They examined him and found nothing out of the ordinary. He's got medication for nausea and they told me to keep a good eye on him. He has yet to eat today (that I know of) and I'm gonna see if he keeps it down without the meds first.

I thank you all for your kindness.
