Joint Pain

Okay, so I am 32 days in and for the last week or two, I have had joint pain flare up in my right hip and knees. Those are areas that I historically have some problem with, but it has been magnified to the point where I have had to ease up on my work outs. Also, have experienced the weirdest thing when first walking in the morning....the bottom of my feet feel like they are slightly bruised. But that feeling goes away very quickly, so no big deal, just something I have never felt before. Has anyone else experienced that in early recovery?

I do apologize to everyone if this subject has been covered in previous threads and I missed them!

In my early sobriety I discovered some aches and pains that I couldn't remember experiencing before. I think because I was in a constant state of being drunk or drying out from being drunk, I wasn't really tuned in to what my body was really feeling. When I was actively using I also wasn't big in to the whole taking care of me thing. Your body may just be settling in to not having toxins running through it. If you remain concerned, perhaps be in touch with someone in the health field. Congrats on your recovery time!

I definitely experienced this, I had gout and rheumatoid arthritis, and the booze was a pain killer (in the old west they used to get your drunk before pulling a tooth). After sobering up I went to a rheumatologist and everything is much better, especially the gout.

Hi Dare

I had similar problems. Like T5 it was gout/arthritis related.
I went to my Dr and we sorted a few things out.

Of course none of us know whether your trouble has the same cause or not.
See your Dr and find out exactly what your trouble is and take it from there :)

Thanks for the feedback. It's nothing that can't wait until my physical in August. More than likely I have scared my body half to death with my new exercise regimen.
