Is this a bad sign? I am commited to never drinking again, but for some reason this dream made me feel weak. I was in the earlier stages of alcoholism for sure, drinking to get drunk every night, but not blacked out or anything (usually)
Any feedback is helpful. Thank you. I am using the AVRT technique...

Congrats on 2 days! I think drinking dreams are fairly common. I had one in which I didn't have a drink in my hand in the dream, but I knew I was drunk because I was acting like such an idiot!

I had a drinking dream last night.

It's a dream, it means nothing. I did wake up with a little anxiety - but that doesn't mean I'm going to take a drink.

It was part of my life that is now gone. It was just a dream.

Welcome, congrats on day 2. I think it's common in the early days to have dreams about drinking, i wouldn't pay too much attention to it. Glad you've joined us.

Oh, yeah. Freaky dreams come and go. The last one: I was back on campus at my first college, circa 1978. Big campus festival going on. Lot's of friends, lots of booze, lots of drugs. The freaky? My second wife, circa 1992, was there on stage playing guitar and singing. I repeated WTF in my dream and out loud as I was waking.

Welcome, appleface Personally, I think having a drinking dream is a good sign I interpret it as meaning that my desire to give up has trickled all the way down to my subconscious and the dream is reinforcing my resolve or reminding me of how it was and warning me of what might happen if I were to go back there!

I had similar dreams when I gave up smoking -still do, in fact, - and that was definitely a good sign as I've now ditched the fags for 23 years!

Keep 'em coming, I say!

Wow, I feel better about it already. Thanks, everyone. At least the feeling in the dream was guilt and disappointment in myself immediately after. It was a bottle of fireball, of all thing.. maybe I need to buy myself some cinnamon candy...
