Dee74's Appreciation and Support

Hi to all SR members! I am starting this thread to show our thanks and appreciation to Dee for all he does for everyone! I have never seen anyone give so much help and support no matter what thread it is! He gives so much of his time to lend advice and inspiration to others, yet I've never seen him post with his own problems and he is going through some trying times right now. So lets get as many of the active members to post and say thank you, or share an example where Dee really helped you. We all know he deserves it!

Dee, first let me say Thank You for being you! You've helped so many, now it's our turn to return the favor! This is YOUR thread, your place to vent and release, and our turn to be there for you!!

I can't list all the ways Dee's helped me. My former sponsor in AA knows his words well -- better than she'd like. I think of myself as a baby bird in sobriety, and Dee as the stimulus I imprinted on. That sounds weird.

Thank you!

Oh thank you guys - very much appreciated.

I did think about not moving this out of Daily Support forum, tho

Seriously, it's been a rough few weeks - not over yet - and you guys have seen me through.

so I'd like to thank all you guys back

I also want to give a big shout out to Anna and MG and all the wonderful Newbies and Alcoholism forum greeters (and a few FandF'ers) who do so much in this forum too...it's definitely not a one man band

I remember always thinking Dee was some Forty something lady.. haha

Dee is very good with advice.. Cheering us on in our good times.. and comforting us in our not so good times.

Thanks Dee!

I always marvel at your quiet and succinct wisdom for people who are struggling. I know a couple of times when I was feeling pretty humiliated and like a failure, you encouraged me with incredibly kind words of encouragement--exactly what I needed to hear, exactly when I needed to hear it!

Thank you for giving of yourself so much. It means more than you know.

Dee, I appreciate what you do here. I know it is not easy to make things run smoothly on a site such as this one.

Dee is my cyber sponsor. When I was new in sobriety and went to AA meetings where one has to sign up a roster with name, sobriety date and sponsor's name I always wrote down Dee in the sponsor column just to keep the nosey well meaning hard liners off my back.

Thanks to Dee and all the mods for babysitting us. Dee does seem to be the most ninja like. I don't know how you seem to read every comment and know what is going on all over this forum. One second you are on the Alcoholism section and then pop up on Nicotine. That time you showed up on the Women's section only perpetuates the myth that Dee74 is a 40 year old woman.

Dee got me back on my feet when I came stumbling in here 7 yrs. ago. He literally helped save my life with his words. I've told him - but I don't think he realizes - what a huge part of my recovery he's been.

Love you Dee.

I haven't really had a chance to personally meet Dee yet (hi Dee!) as he's been away a lot dealing with his own issues recently - but I did want to add one thing to this thread.

When I was a guest before I became a member, his avatar was Sgt. Floyd Pepper from Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem band. To this day that is how I still picture him!

Being a muppet's not so bad And the advice I've read, the support he gives - stellar.

Dee is neither a woman nor 40 years old..then again he could be anybody really..maybe he's one of the guys from Duran Duran. I heard the 74 was meaningless..but i don't buy that..not for a second i don't

I know that I am responsible for my own recovery, however, I must say that I'm not quite sure where I would be without Dee and the SoberRecovery forum. Thank you for being a part of my circle
