Is the "newcomers meeting" in Al-Anon important?

I've never been to Al-Anon. One of the meetings in my city is specifically marked "newcomers meeting." It's too far out of the way. There is a regular meeting I could just walk to, though.

I wouldn't say it is a must to go to it as a newcomer, all the Al-anon meetings I ever went to are welcoming of newcomers, it will all depend on what they're discussing, whether it's a certain topic rather than the newcomer meetings focused on things more generally.

Check it out, you can't really go wrong for support!! :)

It has been my experience that you can go to any al anon meeting at all and they will welcome you, it is confusing at first, but keep going and you will get it! Al anon saved me literally. Just get to any meetings you can and you will find a good fit. Just go. You'll be glad you did.
