I think the fear of never being able to drink ever again is not age specific, I'm 39 and could easily, if I would let my AV convince me that I'm still somewhat young and can pack a few more years. I know that is not the case. Because I am an Alcoholic and can never drink again.
Alcoholism also is not age specific. A baby in a mothers womb, if the mother drinks during pregnancy, the bay would be physically addicted to Alcohol at birth.
But the decision to make, if your drinking is causing you problems or not remains yours.
