Guilt always seems to take me back to where I don't want to be
Since drinking is just slow suicide for some of us, feeling guilt over it makes sense. Once you equate drinking with death and sobriety with life you may not have such a difficult time saying no to booze.

The great thing is it can stop now if we let it happen by NOT picking up the first drink. It’s that simple tho not easy in the beginning. Think positive! YOU CAN DO IT one minute, hour and day at a time. It helps many to post here, go to face to face meetings and just don’t drink even if our aszz falls off!

I think it's only normal to feel guilt from past mistakes. But at some point we need to leave what is done, what we cannot change in the past.
And change what can change today. Only things in our control must be our priority.
Ask yourself this, what can I do TODAY to work on my sobriety. What can I fix today on my list of things to do.

Day 1 is better than to keep drinking, I can't afford to let the guilt eat me up anymore, god made me this way, I didn't ask for this but I can change it & only I can do this, just need to keep going, we all have a survival instinct, good luck and keep it up
