Welcome and well said!

We all have been there, self promising that tomorrow we would stop, until tomorrow came and we repeat history.

Great job at breaking the circle!

It's great to have you here rboonie - you'll find this a friendly & encouraging place.
Not sure where I'd be without SR and the people who got me back on my feet.
Congratulations for wanting a better life - you can do it.

I found this forum online in March and only just now plucked up the "courage" to post, it's taken me a long time to realise I don't control the drink and that it controls me.

I've lost too much of my life to it and now I need to get Sober, and I know I'm going to need help.

Back again, still drinking but in a matter of days have cut back a little, seem to be sleeping better and for the first time in a long time got woken up by the alarm clock for work instead of sweats and feelings of panic, the only thing is I'm dreading the weekend off work because that's when I seem to do my heaviest drinking, one minute I get off on Friday afternoon and the next I'm waking up Monday morning.
Will let you know how I get on.

That's another thing, friends are few and far between as I only seem to work and come home, all my relations are in UK

Been lurking, reading and having days of seriousness sobriety but never enough to really move forward. Tired and ready to really try for the first time. Be there for you too.

Trying to quit feels like dipping my toes in to water and thinking how deep can this be ? Is the best way I can describe how I feel right now, It's not going to be easy me thinks.
