More and more...and your posts helps me to see that, it's like we have to earn our keep in soberland every damn day.
Some days are easy breezy and some are not...
An addictions counsellor friend of mine (well he's the hubby of a friend), says there is nothing in the AA Big Book about sobriety birthdays and day counts and all that (I don't know, I just take his word for it)...and he is NOT a fan of them...
Because it takes away the importance of one sober day..that they are earned each and every day. I myself went to my first AA meeting (again) recently. I've gone to two now and there was something said at the first that really resonated with me. At the end of a share, a couple of people said "wishing you another 24"...
To me, that's what its' about earning your keep in sobriety...maybe to some degree...in life..every damn day.
Each day is a gift. May I experience it sober. May I look around and appreciate something about it ...every damn day.
