Putting the TRUTH out there....

The only time I feel happy & alive is when I'm drinking. I'm a binge drink drinker. Doesn't that suck? My choices seem to limited. Sober & unhappy or drunk/buzzed & happy..,,sux!

If you're like me you drank for years...drunk became my desired state and then my default state.

You will rediscover the real you and you will be happy with life sober...but give it some time. Don't let those insidious thoughts grind you down.

I've been sober for the best part of a decade now. I love my life and who I am...but it took a little while to get there.

Keep the faith

D

So your 6 years of sobriety sucked Serindad? Honestly?
You spent 6 years in complete misery?
Doubt it.

Your TRUTH is nonsense and you know it, you spent 5 years Sober, how did that go? your choices are not limited, either you're drinking again or your mind is coming up with ways to convince you to drink!!

Everyone who is Sober is not unhappy!! . . . rationally that doesn't even make sense!!

Serenidad, that's your AV. Don't listen to it. You've hang in there all day staying sober. Don't change that now. You can do it. I'm rooting for you. Best wishes!

It's your self pity talking because you aren't at the party and your AV too. You know what happens when you drink, we all do. You wouldn't be posting here if you didn't. Entire cultures lead fulfilling exciting lives sans alcohol. Get off the pity pot and take a walk, smell the air...eat something good, there's a million things you could do.

Yup, this is the moment to take action and get out of the slump. Do something that has you moving around and thinking about something other than alcohol, even if just for a few moments. You can get through this.

I used to be miserable sober until I made up my mind to be happy, no matter what.

My choices seem to limited.

yup, they do.
they are.

that's because you're framing them that way.

in reality, there are many more. but they can't be apparent because apparently you've decided you have only two.

Drinking is going to really limit your choices! Please look at the big picture. Staying sober is going to give you the clarity and ability to make MANY choices.

Sobriety is the freedom to do anything, learn new things, go anywhere, be a better person.

Alcohol is a prison, keeps us locked up, limits everything, cripples our existence.

That's how I'm looking at it at least... your choices aren't limited, you just need to find new things to do
