Anybody Have An Answer

Well yesterday I was on day 3. No problems, felt quite good until I got in to bed!! Started to feel a bit odd, heart started to race, felt like a small panic attack coming on.. As i dozzed off I jumped up with a start as though my heart had stopped. had this happen about 10 times.. I have had this in the past but only when I was drinking.. I know its early in my sobriety but why are withdrawals worse when I go to bed?? Anybody else experienced this?? Baffling!!

Could be many things, and maybe not related to Alcohol. I'd see a doctor if this persists.

I don't know. But I do know that if I have a craving, **% it happens at night. I don't know what it is about night that makes it worse. You're doing great though. If it continues, maybe you should go to your GP. It can't hurt.

I haven't got a scientific explanation I'm afraid.

I know when I'm doing stuff and occupied I'm ok, but my brain races in bed when I'm anxious or worried.

I'd book an appointment if you're having heart problems. Detoxing from alcohol can be deadly.

I think we don't notice some things until bedtime, my first few weeks my heart was going at a quick rate but I also didn't notice it until I was lying in bed, and my mind would be going at light speed too which probably then didn't help things.

Have you been to a Dr since quitting? I went initially and then for a check up a few weeks later just to get checked out on all the important stuff like blood pressure etc, if nothing else it will provide some reassurance that it's nothing serious!!
