Yeah...not sure if you noticed Oldself but I appear to have crossed a few wires and spit out a few sparks trying to match quotes to titles last night. I swear I can hear Al Pacino saying something about winning a chicken dinner, though. [sparks, sparks]. I'll just retreat now...

Croissant, that photo will mean pepper spray, cocked and ready, when I let the dog out after the sun goes down tonight

I thought you were talking to new members, Crossover and Children, and welcoming them to the thread. And, that you had already cleaned your house for the weekend.

Can I go back to bed?

I had a fantastic sunrise walk as the fog burned off the eastern promenade here in Portland. Felt compelled to share.

Yes, Weasel, beautiful!
I would like to use that picture for a painting, as long as I don't infringe on your copyrights.

Olive... Please do. The higher def version is amazing. Let me know if the version posted is not clear enough.

I was stunned today by the beauty the water and the tips of the masts that peaked through the fog. I stood and listened to the water for a while with the quiet of the city. Started my day on top! Already have almost 6 miles in for the day!

Ya know, this was supposed to be my weekend off. But no... You got me out here, dragging your heavy ass through the burning desert with your dreadlocks sticking out the back of my parachute. You gotta come down here with an attitude, acting all big and bad. And what the hell is that smell?!

Well... Got a call from New York this morning early. Had a few texts and Facebook messages as well. It was only a matter of time.

Someone who I am friends with got drunk at the bar I used to go to in New York. Crashed her car a few blocks from the bar and spent the night in jail. Scheduled to go before the judge now.

This will cost no less than 20k because insurance won't cover her car or the other if they sue her.

Thankful I am sober and make choices everyday many times a day to remain that way. Great reminder but sad for my friend.

K

Here's a couple from a classic:

"Revenge is a dish best served cold"

"A man that doesn't spend time with his family can never be a real man"

At work on day 38. Chances are pretty good we'll be getting out early. Nothing planned for the weekend except for relaxing and fireworks at the park.

My all-time favorite movie is "Animal House." I have seen it well over two hundred times and still laugh. Rather than a line, let me post one of my favorite scenes, when the Deltas are choosing their pledges:

(A high school yearbook picture of a young man is on the screen)

HOOVER: Uh ... Larry Kroeger. All in favor?

VARIOUS DELTAS: Yeah, yeah, we need the dues.

HOOVER: Good! Larry Kroeger is now pledged to Delta Tau Chi, next slide, please, D-Day?

(The camera goes to Bluto, sitting half-asleep in the dim. The light from the slide projector flashes on his face and he bolts upright, his expression horrified)

BLUTO: AUUUGGHHHH!

(On the screen is a picture of a fat, goggle-eyed boy. Immediately there is booing and beer cans flying at the screen)

HOOVER: Everybody, just ... just settle down! This is Kent Dorfman, he's a legacy from Harrisburg.

(More booing and catcalling. Boon and Otter, sitting next to each other, exchange glances. Otter sticks his gum on the top of his beer can, hands it to Boon and gets up)

OTTER: Okay, okay, this guy's a real zero, that's true. But think back to when you guys were freshmen, huh? Boon! You had a face like a pepperoni pizza, right? And Stork here! Everyone thought the Stork was brain-damaged. I myself was so obnoxious the seniors used to beat me up once a week. So this guy is a total loser? Well, let me tell you the story of another loser--

(Everyone groans and chucks their beer cans at Otter)

And of course, this immortal line:

"Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son."

Everyone enjoy the holiday whee!kend!

I love the scene in Animal House where the girl and the artsy-looking guy are sitting on the steps. The artsy guy is playing a guitar and singing, "I gave my love a cherry that had no stone...I gave my love a chicken that had no bone" (That's an actual folk song, BTW!).

Bluto looks at them, then looks at the camera--then grabs the guitar and smashes it!
