Just keep trying.
I went to my very first AA meeting Friday night after many failed attempts at quitting, and being standoffish to the idea of AA for years, and picked up my white chip. I see several people struggling tonight, and I am now four days sober. I tried several different methods, and this is the one that is working for me. My point in this is to just say to all of you struggling, keep trying. Try AA and it's not for you, try AVRT, not for you, try something else. Try whatever, but keep on trying. If you slip, get back up and try again, and change your plan. Eventually, you will find the combination that works for you, and this forum is such a wonderful tool for sobriety. YOU CAN DO IT! Just keep trying

Thank you all, I never even would have taken the first tiniest step without starting here as a lurker. If you Google "alcoholism" drunk at 2:00 in the morning, it will lead you to here.
